The Scholastic Book Fair is a vibrant event at Maple Hills Elementary, providing students with access to a wide range of books and fostering a love for reading. This twice yearly fair transforms the school or an approved location into a bookstore, where students, families, and staff can explore and purchase books. Proceeds from the event support the school's library and educational programs, enriching the learning environment and encouraging literacy. The Book Fair also serves as a community-building event, bringing together students, parents, and teachers in celebration of reading and education.

Our amazing Eagle Reader program is designed to promote reading at home. Minutes read are submitted into a log and can be tabulated from independent reading and or parent reading to student. Then they get to pick up a free book at our Eagle Reader Clubhouse once a month, if they have met the reading requirements. A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted. Entries are judged at local then state levels. Once entries reach the state level, the state PTA may select up to four entries in each of the six arts areas to submit to the National PTA. National first, second, and third place, and honorable mention entries are recognized at the National PTA Annual Convention.

What is Art Walk? Art Walk occurs every Spring. Each class makes a special project to display in the hallways of the school. Family & Friends are invited to attend and view a part of the art curriculum their child has learned that year and make a small project at an Art Station to take home. Art Walk is also accompanied by additional activities like simple and fun art projects and a small Market Place where the PTA sells small art projects. Friends and family are also asked to vote on "Best in Show" for each grade.

Pizza Bingo Night is an amazing community event where students and families come together to eat pizza and play bingo. Pizzas and drinks are purchased in advance and distributed prior to the BINGO event. Prizes are procured by volunteers which are given to BINGO night winners. All of Maple Hills family and friends come together for a night of Pizza and Bingo!

January is National Mentoring Month Resolve to make a difference this New Year Volunteer just one hour a week supporting a student! ONE Mentor ONE Student ONE Hour The VOICE Mentor Program is looking for community volunteers to work one on one with Issaquah students. These students are referred by teachers and counselors as needing extra support whether it is academic, social or emotional. What is the event: Join us for a night at Cheney Stadium baseball park for a night outdoors enjoying the Tacoma Rainiers!
What you will do: Work with the Tacoma Rainiers to procure tickets to the game. Partner with the PTA Communications Director to promote the fundraising event and create a website to sell tickets to families and guests. Distribute sold tickets to purchasers. Keep a general accounting of sales and report to the PTA Treasurer and PTA team. |

The nominating committee's role is to identify and recruit the most qualified candidates for elected PTA positions as defined by local PTA or council rules. They are not responsible for filling non-elected positions. Upon completion, the committee provides a written report with the names of the nominees for elected positions on the PTA board.
